Castaway Q8205 Large Quilted Hammock - green/white Review

This is my third hammock over several years. The first was a very stretchy cotton rope one that a squirrel got fixated on and chewed to pieces, and the second was a very not stretchy, non-quilted nylon fabric one that held up very well until one of the stretcher bars broke in half. I would describe this Castaway hammock as medium stretchy, which means it has better support than the cotton rope one and is more comfortable than the non-quilted one because it has more give. I didn't specifically look for a quilted hammock and didn't know anything about them until I bought this one. I mainly wanted durability, the right size, and the right price.

I'm a little tough on hammocks, leaving them out to the weather more than I should, so time will have to tell how durable this new hammock is. But, so far, in owning it for several months now, I'm very pleased with it. I like that it's reversible. I'm giving it four stars only because it does not dry quickly, meaning that when you're getting ready for a party, you can't put off hosing down the hammock until the last minute. Otherwise, I'm happy with it, and you can't beat it for the price.

The stand is sturdy, and nicely built. Easy to assemble, and will have a small footprint if you want to store it. One thing I don't like is that is very hard to move when assembled because it will come apart when you try pulling it to move it from one place to another in your backyard. I wonder if they should have added some fasteners of some sort. If you want to move it, always push.... never pull. Other than that, is a good product.

This quilted hammock features a two layered canvas bed with a poly-fiber fill insert and is large enough to accomodate 2 people.
